IRC is one of the coolest ways to use Internet, joining a small group which aim is cumunication...
Now lots of people´ll be in doubt… we know perfectly the limits of programms as Mirc or Pirch, where u can only write it down in black and white, where u may need few seconds to get your words read ….some people, for sure, will enjoy more complex and even more satisfying programms, as Iphone or NetMeeting…..right…with´em you cannot only write, but draw, talk, and even see each other :-) Having come thus far, lots of u´ll may say "hooooo, I gotta get such a thing so I can see who I am talking with!"..and I'd say "beh, I didn´t expect u to get as far". I want u to stop in a very concret aspect…and those few introductory lines should let u understand the huge potential within Mirc prog…..where u only? write... Try to think about the 1rst day u clicked twice on the tiny Mirc icon…when u saw all those writing each other….wow…

what did u think?
....weren´t u a little bit embarrassed about having to start talking to 1 or more of them….just because u liked their way of writing or their charm?…What happened to u?…think twice about it!..how did u overcome this feeling….that lasted only 1 second? I´ve asked myself the same…and I ´ve found my own answer….we feel protected preserving ourselves incognito….The fact is that u may have ever dream to say "hello, I´m Pinco Pallino…..how do u do?" to the first one coming by Corso Buenos Aires, in Milan…..when somebody speaks, or can be seen on the screen….you get embarrassed…..may be only the first moment…I´m sure…I know people from IRC that tried to connect through NetMeeting, but they curbed, because….."talking …beh…Ain´t like it!" Well..things are not so dramatic…Lots use Iphone in order to make cheap transcontinental phone-calls, with people they already know, or a far away love :-)
And I won´t start talking long about how difficult is to communicate with foreign people, trying to understand an american …..it´s difficult enough to understand an italian,….! So I think that the logical development of a IRCer is to use sporadically G/V conference servers…. But don´t think that what I´ve just said is the common rule… I´m sure lots of people will have started and, enjoying it, will become leaders……but not everybody. Gimme 5 minutes more…..read all this introduction…..may help u to understand better what I intend to do.

Don´t u think that IRC, as virtual communication, is a cold aspect in our life…..according to the common thought, that everything concerning computers is cold or senseless.It is not true.And u, as IRCers, understand what I mean……. High values, as frienship, love, charm, collaboration, complicity…..don´t end over a keyboard …..they are amplified through data and electrical wire, and they can be felt by reading on a screen…don´t need big efforts, and with IRC even less. Write… building sentences…accurately and as fast as possible… our feelings or sensations, avoiding being misunderstood, sensing all the shades of a sentence read on a screen..It lets us grow up, it makes us grow up…. It gives us fun. Sometimes it hooks u more than a book, a good one, more than a film, due to the fact that there is a human being at the other end. These are the reasons why our IRC world runs faster; becoming close friends, trusting people…. Are things that in the other world runs slower, or even never happen. OK…we´re on the wave:-) Accept as much as I wrote down more than a personal opinion… by feeling my words u'll understand how important is what I´m asking for.

It´s a project.
MIL….Milano, that´s it, #milano channel. It´s not a channel´s demand to join this project.Milano is just a way to collect all those people who want to participate with their jobs.
ESP…Experimental.. born experimental, becomes a development way, whose natural end is to turn into a community. Will shelter more people, more interests… will try to feed your curiosity hunger!…..learning from each other.
ART… Art is every single expression of feelings… Don´t need to be a genious to be an artist. To be able to show your soul through your words…through your poetry… through your images… through your music…..All is Art…Art is in every single tiny thing in our lifes… it doesn´t belong to a reduced group of "artists", but to everybody with a soul to share .We have to be convinced that there´s something in ourselves….that is art…just look for it…and be yourself by expressing it. If we notice interest from u, if we realice that people start to enjoy this experiment, start to show its projects and start to enjoy the others experiments. The word "ART" could become "TECH", directly related, whose main scope will be the technique, programmation and entertainment, computer-games included.

Evey month, in #milano a "theme" will be proposed, according to a very precise plot.From the papers, common interests… anything we can work on, extracting concepts to be developped according to every single point of view. Those people wanting to join us, just come to IRC #milano channel, in UNDERNET servers, read about the "theme" and developpe it, creating, writng, drawing, painting, composing, and so on, …..choosing your best between:
1-TEXT-Write a text as a report or a short tale.
2-POETRY-write poetry.
3-GRAPHIC-build or developpe an image.
4-MUSIC-compose music, soundtracks,
In order to make u better understand,…think about a Webpage…ok?…at top, centered, the title, the "theme"; then, in the center of the screen, an image over black background…. Meanwhile, listen to the music, and read some tales…or poetry…now everything has sense, harmony! The winners will be those who better express the spirit of the theme, being able to transmite the feelings.

In order to let all of us the chance to admire your work, the format of the files must be: TEXTS: TXT

All the writings must comply the common format TXT. We know that WIN95 supports .DOC formats, but should think in those using MAC, OS, Linux...

GRAPHIC: BMP, JPG, GIF

Those are the common formats up to 24 bits.

MUSIC: MIDI, MIDI0

everybody owning a 16bits sound blaster compatible card can listen´em.

1- to developpe all of them, but only one can be sent to participate.
2- to work in groups… up to 3 people.
3- in texts, you can make references to other texts.
4- in MIDI files you just can copy the base, and specifically, channel 10(dinamyc rythm)
5- in graphics, you can use scanners, photos,… but as result the composition must be original.

1- It´s absolutely forbiden to send porno material… that won´t be directly related to the theme, and in anyway it´s forbiden in any case to send porno material showing infants under 14.
2- How do we punctuate?…still working on it :-)

3- In order to favour the non- experts, we´re going to punctuate on that way:
+2pt to the users of low level graphic programms (paintbrush)

-2 pt to the users of high level graphic programms (corel draw, photoshop)

+2 pt to those who compose a melody with a maximum of 4 channels.

-2 pt to those who compose a melody with more than 4 channels.

4- Texts have no control at all.
5- All the projects should be sent with a small explanation, with the following information: name, program used, and, if u want, the technics.Any additional information will be welcome.
6- Those who start later will start with the same punctuation as the last classified.
7- The winner…still to define.

EXP.ART. should be considered as a friendly competition, and in those "dead times", when people is developping their projects, EXP.ART: becomes a reference where people ask for advice and help from all the others, addressing people to good books, films, programms, concerts, …. Everything can work!
